Chrollais originated in the Saone et Loire region of France in the 19th Century and were exported to the U.K in 1976 where it is now the 3rd most popular terminal sire breed. They are long, well-muscled sheep with pink / grey faces and legs, and fine to medium wool.

Prolificacy: 180%
Average weight gains: 0.40 - 0.50 kg/day (0.9 - 1.1 lbs)
Mature weight of ewes: 90 kg (200 lbs)
Mature weight of rams: 125 kg (275 lbs)

Both purebred and Charollais crossbred lambs have graded very well. They are well known for heavily muscled, lean carcasses at dressed weights between 18 and 30 kgs (40 - 66 lbs). Our flock was derived from embryo and semen donors with high indices in the U.K. Sire Reference Program.
